Admissions & Qualifier Process

Step-by-step information on how to secure admission to the world's first online BS degree program from IIT Madras.

Entry PathwaysRegular & JEE Route
Timelines3 Cohorts/Year
EligibilityClass 12 / Working Prof.

1. Regular Entry: The Qualifier Process

The regular entry route is built to democratize high-quality education. There is no JEE ranking requirement. Instead, students register, complete 4 weeks of preliminary study, and attempt the official Qualifier Exam.

How it works:
  • Step 1:Submit the online application fee and register for a cohort.
  • Step 2:Access weekly lecture contents for Mathematics, Statistics, Python, and English for 4 weeks.
  • Step 3:Submit mandatory assignments. Minimum average assignment score determines eligibility to write the exam.
  • Step 4:Write the 4-hour in-person Qualifier Exam. Pass thresholds vary between 40% to 50% depending on student categories.

2. Pathways After Class 12 & Working Professionals

The program welcomes high school students immediately after class 12. Alternatively, candidates who have completed college courses or are actively working can enroll directly. There is no age limit or stream restriction (Arts, Commerce, and Science students are all eligible).

3. Direct Entry via JEE Advanced

Students eligible to write JEE Advanced in the current year can bypass the 4-week qualifier training course content and obtain direct entry to the Foundation Level stage.
