What is the duration of the IIT Madras BS program?

The program is flexible, allowing students to complete coursework over a duration of 3 to 6 years. Students can register for courses term-by-term based on their personal schedules.

What is the weekly workload expected of students?

On average, each registered course requires 8 to 10 hours of active commitment per week. A student registered for 3 courses should dedicate around 24 to 30 hours per week for lectures and assignments.

How are credits calculated and tracked?

Each course carries 3 to 4 credits. The Foundation stage requires 32 credits, each Diploma requires 30 credits, and the final BS Degree stage requires an additional 24-28 credits, leading to a total of 116-120 credits.
